Joe Biden and Paul Ryan at debate last night, with Biden showing his real feelings about Ryan in this and many other pictures.
SourceJust imagine. Joe Biden's performance is considered by many to have won the day, and put the Democratic Ticket back on track. Perhaps it did.
If you believe after Biden's performance that Barack Obama applauded was just to turn the tables on Republicans and does not expose a fundamental flaw and danger in reelecting Obama, you are sadly mistaken.
What should be taken from the debate is a very clear message, accurately delivered.
The Democrats who run this country cannot and will not compromise. In fact, they will do anything to show their disdain, disrespect and hate for the other side.
What is absolutely clear is that they will not compromise, cannot compromise, and cannot even treat the other side with the slightest respect. They will not countenance debate about the future direction of this country. Their vision is the only vision.
For me, the debate last night reinforced what I have seen for almost six years.
The beast within Obama's Democratic citadel has been publicly unleashed now in all its fury, and is exposed for all of us to see. A very ruthless beast whose intent is to wipe out opposition and to lead in secret with little or no public access or examination. The refusal to produce all of the information relating to the Obama Administration's treatment of Fast and Furious is but the tip of a huge iceberg as far as the Obama Administration is concerned. There is far more to see.
A short time before the debate, Stephanie Cutter appeared with Brett Baier to discuss the debate. She certainly did that, but in tone and quality not in substance. For Cutter, perhaps the most aggressive and mean participant in this election year, nothing is enough to show her views on how bad Republicans and particularly Mitt Romney are. To her, Romney may be a felon.
And to her, any discussion of the situation in Libya was off limits and inappropriate in this election year. To her, any discussion of the death of our ambassador and others in Libya was "political" and wrong.
Her delivery with Baier monopolized the entire discussion and refused to answer questions or discuss the bases of her views. As happened repeatedly when Hillary Clinton supporters tried to get in a word when faced with Obama supporters five years ago, Cutter overwhelmed Baier, shouted over him, and treated him as rudely as she could. Her disdain was palpable.
Cutter has to be kidding. The responses and fumbling by the White House was what politicized the death of an ambassador.
Those who really report news rather than what the White House tells them to report, a shockingly small minority of journalists these days, find their claims about terror being largely defeated absurd. Yet it was a movie for which apologies were given instead of strong denunciation of those who perpetrated this international crime against our country.
To treat the death of Americans left without as much security as our ambassador in France as a response to a movie is to treat their deaths as just more collateral damage in a more and more false rendition of the facts about what is happening in the world. A "spring" in the Middle East, to be sure. But not one of hope and change. One of domination and terror.
If this is what you want for the next four years, then it is your right to get this group back in the White House to continue guiding this country in whatever way they see fit. With Obama at the helm, letting Congress twist in the wind whenever anything of note comes up, is better because it shows up the real bad guys, so the Democrats in charge would let you believe. Leading from behind, which is really not leading at all, is what we need to do.
To hand the keys to our home over to Obama for another four years is not just stupidity. It is a risk that we just may not be able to bear. And it is playing itself out on the world stage for all to see.
If you believe that "BiBi" is Joe Biden's buddy, then you will believe anything. More power to you. If you believe that Obama's visit to the View instead of meetings with heads of state makes more sense, then more power to you.
We have had gridlock in Washington. The Democrats will have you believe it is because of the Republicans who will not do anything to get things done. Really?
You can define Joe's performance as powerful, aggressive, wonderful, and great, just like Obama.
And you can send us back to four more years of backbiting, blame and hate while our country slides down an economic disaster into greater debt, less of a future, and more finger-pointing.
Mitt Romney also called Paul Ryan to congratulate him on his performance. I prefer to think of that call as accurate. In the face of one of the biggest bullies of any campaign, Ryan generally held his own.
Our country deserves gentlemen over bullies like Cutter and Biden and those who applaud their approach. Any day of any year of any century, we need people who can work together for the common good.
Gentlemen and gentlewomen are by far more preferable in the difficult world in which we find ourselves.
We do not need people who shout, talk over, interrupt and take control of a discussion to get their way and allow no other views to see the light of day.
Yes, Cutter wants no discussion of Libya, and Biden can do nothing but laugh, denigrate, deride and hate Republicans after forty years in Washington, DC, and four only a heartbeat away from the presidency.
But freedom requires open discussion, debate and compromise.
Freedom demands Romney as our president.
