Rev. Wright more than sound bite, Obama's ex-pastor

advertisement

This article reminds us that Wright himself recognized last year that Obama might need to distance himself from Wright. That this is a well-planned move on Obama's part is beyond question. Nothing he does is not planned in some way. Indeed, his plan has been based on rejection, denial and rejecting discussion of his own views on any number of subjects. As this article suggests, Obama can neither disown that which has been his for twenty years, nor bank the fires that run deep within Reverend Wright. That there is truth in many things Wright says makes Obama's condemnation all the more egregious.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

You're not suggesting that Wright deliberately overspoke at the Press Club, NAACP, et. al. so Obama could denounce him as offensive and outrageous in order to increase Obama's street creds in the "Bubba" states; like North Carolina and Indiana?

"That this is a well-planned move on Obama's part"?

Should we start calling him Obubba?
